When you play in the "full-time corporate world" - chances are....you are working within an organization that operates under a traditional hierarchy. [See image.]
As you can see, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗼, the less "REAL ESTATE" there is.
𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 📉
If you look who is struggling to find jobs right now....it's not entry level/IC folks....it's people at the MANAGER level & above.
So when you mix in the fact that 85% of LinkedIn users are looking for new jobs/opportunities....
And mix this in with the REDUCTION in new jobs/roles given the current economic state....
AND you add in that as you move "up the ladder" - there are fundamentally less roles/opportunities to move upward....
𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 - 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄. 𝗔 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 👀
Or, in nicer terms, a massive DEMAND for upper-level professionals to make forward progression - and a lack of SUPPLY for them to do so

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗜 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆:
🔥 I personally enjoyed working with smaller/start-up companies who truly valued my feedback & input!
🔥 I loved being able to make changes & provide input - and to see those recommendations IMMEDIATELY go into effect without the typical LAG that you see at a larger organization.
🔥 I loved having a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with the founder/CEO of the company - and really got to "bite off" on the mission!
🔥 I REALLY loved my ability to insulate & diversify my income - without relying on a SOLE client to pay 100% of my bills. Working with 4-5 clients at a time meant making MORE money than I did with my previously FULL-TIME salary!
🔥 What I loved the MOST - was having full autonomy & control of my time & schedule. Was I still available for calls & meetings? Of course. But I set & determined what days/times I would be available instead of being TOLD what to do. Having control of my TIME was the biggest game changer for me.
Fast forward to today - if you're at the Manager level or higher.....
